What about all those scary websites and articles! Is there anything to the implant scare?
Those scary websites are to make you react exactly that way, scared. I am not saying that nothing negative ever happens. It does, there are instances of capsular contracture (CC), extrusion, infection, inflammation, granulomas, asymmetry, etc. But not in the percentages claimed on these sites. Much "evidence" is unsubstantiated and significantly exaggerated.
The simple fact is unfortunately you never know WHO is going to have a negative reaction and it is a chance you are going to have to take. Way the pros and cons of which have evidentiary support and you can make an informed choice. Visit our support forums and support forums all over the web and you will surely see that the happy patients aren't few and far between, there are MANY more than can be counted.
