Treating scars to create smoother surface has to be handled carefully. Adding oil will also add a layer that can prevent the skin from breathing. It can also make existing, active acne worse. Adding oils only camouflages existing scars, leaving the need to use a light diffusing foundation to create the smoother look you are after. Olive oil is a good substance, but is best on mature skin with old acne scars, meaning new outbreaks aren't occurring on a regular basis.

Removing some of the layers of skin around the scar and at the site of the scar itself is more permanent. If you don't like peels, then home microdermabrasion systems, home made facial scrubs, and even some home facials will do the trick!
