My upper arms are not too bad. I have been in the gym for three years religiously. I still need some skin removed. I thought the only way was the cut on the inner arm from the elbow all the way up. Now I see where some people have what they call armpit surgery. What is that?

I had a minimal incision armlift (brachioplasty) done in Bethesda, Md., by Dr. Mark Richards, an outstanding plastic surgeon in 2002. He created this procedure by making the incision under the armpits. He is a great surgeon and so personable. He removed about two and one-half inches of loose skin from my upper arms. It is a remarkable procedure leaving no unsightly scars. Any more questions, just let me know! Really a great procedure.

The armpit surgery cannot help as much as the full incision surgery, but the benefit is that it won't leave that scar running down your arm. It may be all you need, if your skin isn't that loose.

This is where the armpit is cut and everything is actually tucked and pulled up. Not every doctor uses this method.
