I am one year po from ba, and I recently posted that I thought that my left implant was leaking. I went to see PS today and he says that I have capsular scar contracture, he really has not ever seen someone having this after one year of ba, usually it occurs within 6 months after ba. He gave me the options that I can take heavy doses of vitamin E and hope that would help the implant to drop back down to the pocket or that I need surgery so that he can remove the scar tissues and hope that the imnplant will drop down into the pocket. He quoted the surgery cost to $2600, $900 facility fee,$900 anesthesia, and $800 phycisian fees. That seems very steep, or is that the norm costs of scar contracture revision??? please help!

Hi I was thinking with your other post that it might have been cc. Becasue I thought mine was leaking and it wasn't it was cc also. And mine didn't happen until after 1 year post op either. My ps has me lay on my chest 2 times a day for 5 minutes at a time and it really helps with the tightness. Did he say what stage you were at I am a 2.

He did not tell me what stage I'm in, but do you think before considering surgery to try what you are doing? I mean it my breast doesn't even feel hard at all, maybe there's still a chance to correct it without surgery? I really don't know what to do, I just know that $2600 is alot of money if I there's a chance I can fix it without surgery.

Basically a stage 2 is a little hard and sometimes sore. It goes up to a stage 4 which is rock hard"like a mountain" is what my ps said. I have silicone above the muscle. If yours are above I would say it wouldn't hurt, if yours are below the muscle i don't have any idea when they are under. You might see, if they are under, maybe Miki can answer this one for you!! Or even talk to your ps about it, just tell him you want to try everything possible before rushing into another surgery, because if it happened once it could hppen again.
By the way laying on it does not fix it, but if you do it like I said it will keep it so you hardly notice. |

I would ask your doctor if there is any risk in waiting to see if you need the surgery. That way you can try the vitamin E and see if it can heal without surgery, and if that doesn't work you can get the surgery. I'm sorry for your trouble.
