You may be ok because of where your incision is. I am 3.5 weeks po with 350 cc silicon overs, but I have a crease incision - the doctor says no underwires for at least 3 more weeks because of irritation to the incision.

I'd ask your PS to be sure. Some doctors recommend not wearing them and some recommend wearing them. But I would follow your doctor's advice for you.

I have saline unders and have been wearing non-underwire bras shortly after 3 weeks post (I wore a sports bra for the first 2 weeks and then a camisole top with a built-in support). I am now 8 weeks post op.

I just had my 8 week post op check and my surgeon finally gave me the go ahead to wear underwire.

I know that others on here have been able to wear underwire bras almost from the start. I guess it all depends on the incision site and how long post op the woman is... and obviously on the ps.

There is another post on here called "Pushup/Underwire Bra", dated Nov. 17. Here is a post to that thread from Dr. Di Saia:

It's funny. The implant companies recommend that patients not wear underwire bras. They believe that it affects the rupture rate. The problem is that most larger bras are pretty much underwire only (unless you like pretty ugly bras). I usually have my patients in a soft sports-type bra for a few weeks.

Best Regards,

It really depends on your personal situation, meaning the particular details of your surgery and body type. That determines whether or not an underwire bra will irritate the incision or otherwise interfere with the implants.
