Default 2 days post op-bad pain in armpit

I got my surgery 2 days ago and have been experiencing this sharp pain in my armpit but only on my right side. It kind of feels like the same sharp pain you feel when your arm falls asleep and you try and move it. Has anyone experienced this. Is there any relief??

The muscles and nerves are irritated and injured and that is why you are experiencing this area. Have you tried icing this are 20 min at a time but not directly on the skin?
How any cc's did you get and are they unders?

I know it feels like burning tingling! It's like someone is rubbing sandpaper with needles in it. Ouch! The ice helps a lot. But that feeling means that your nerves are healing themselves. The more you feel of this the more you can me sure that you are getting sensations back. I am 9 days post op. I had those painful sensations mostly from 2 to 6 days post op. I only took the pain meds regularly for 2 or 3 days, but because of those annoying sensations I took 1 pain pill at bedtime to help me sleep until through day 6. Just hang in there. You'll feel better soon. Congrats on your BA!

Iceing it can definately help. The feeling comes from the nerves that were irritated during the procedure. If you are worried, you can check with your PS.
