That sounds a little challenging, have either of you spoken to your PS yet? What do they say? I am only one week po, where are you two in your recovery time? Have you showered a lot, I have not even wanted to get into the shower and been just sponge bathing for the past week. I was told at my appt this week it is ok, but I may have oozing from my stitches... did either of you have oozing? Would like to know how you are doing and what you find out, all the best to you both.

i haven't taken a shower that often since my operation. it'll be 2 weeks tomorrow (Friday). i prefer baths right now. i do have both nipples, just the right one seems more inner then my left one. my left one is more out etc. i went to see the doctor on monday, and he said all was well...but i'm unsure. i honestly thought the only time we were endanger of losing our nipples was during the operation, not afterwards. guess i was wrong!

After the drains were removed the ps said i can take a shower and use bacatracin every day i have tried to do that i go back to the ps on friday and i will ask him. i don't mind the pinkness but the nipples are depressing and my last appt the scabs of them were both there. i guess if i lose sensation i lose the nipple too.

I am 6wks. po and my nipples are starting to look and act like nipples. All the scabs have fallen off and they become erect to touch and cold, however not as well as preop- yet. They are still sensitive to touch and it's hard to tell if the touch causes pain or pleasure. But my PS assures me they get better with time and he's been right so far. Please talk with your PS or his nurse regarding your nipples so you will get the right info incase there is a problem the best of luck. J.S.

I think that is good news to the other posters who are worried about their nipples.

It takes a while for them to heal, but they will.
