Default Reduction vs. Lift

I'm confusted about reduction versus lift. Do you automatically get a "lift" when you have BR surgery? Or, is a lift a certain procedure and not part of the BR unless you specify?

i think you get a lift whenever you get a br. i didn't ask for one and my ps said he did. i think it is included in the br surgery.

That's what I was thinking, too, but I read a previous post that made me think differently.

I believe it's all included in the BR. My PS told me it goes without saying when she does BR's. I felt stupid asking her before my surgery but better safe than sorry! Insurance paid for everything for me.

A breast reduction almost always involves a lift, because they have to tighten everything back up after they reduce the breast.

A lift can be done without a breast reduction, though.
