I am 1 week post-op after having a scar revision. I get bad hypertrophic scars and really want to do anything to prevent them from coming back this time. Any suggestions (products or methods used) would be great! THANK YOU!!!

Yes, I too have hypertrophic scarring. I am 5mnths PO and have pain along with them. How long ago did you have your BR? I am going into my PS office on Monday to have some steroid injections in the area to see if that helps. I do feel though, that I may need to have some revisions done in the future. My shape and size are very nice, but the anchor scars are quite intense!!! Best if luck in your new healing and I hope they never come back.

I first got a reduction in 2000 (with NO injections or gel sheeting) and then in 2003 had my first scar revision (with injections for wbout 2 months post op and used gel sheets for a very short time). There was a 100% difference, but not completely to my satisfaction, so I just got the revision done again. This time my PS only cut where the scars were and left good areas alone. So on my left areola it was a very tiny incision, where on my right the incision was about a "C" size incision. Of course the complete underneath and a small part on the line that goes up. I just ordered some gel and sheets and am hoping they will work. My PS used injections this time just during the surgery but says at this time just use the sheets. I hope it works!

I hope they don't come back. Maybe using scar prevention creams will help.
