The pain pump is a pump in which it is suppose to numb area. Whenever you feel pain you simply press pump and it suppose to release some kind of anesthetia that helps numb the pain away

I don't know most people like it because it offers immediate relief to pain, I would have gotten it but my doctor doesn't use them

It depends on what kind of pain pump you are asking about. I had a Morphine pump in the hospital overnight that delivered a certain amount of morphine into my vein every hour, and I could also press a button if I needed extra. After the morphine pump was discontinued before I left the hospital, I was sent home with a pain "ball" which delivered numbing medication through 2 small catheters-1 into each buttock- continuously over a 72-hour period with no "pump" involved. After the 3 days, the catheters were then pulled out which did not hurt at all.

Is the pump attached to your body? How does it inject the pain relieving meds?
