I'm new to participating in the message board, guess you could say I've been a 'closet reader', but felt compelled to finally share my story in order to get sound advise, support & inform others.
In 1990 (when I was 23)I struggled with low self-esteem. Part of my feeling insecure was not having any boobs! (sad isn't it?) At 5'10 135 lbs my bra size was barely an A cup. Needless to say I thought implants were the way to go. After much research & a referral to a well known, board certified surgeon I agreed to getting silicone(polyurethene coated)implants placed I trusted him & suggestion. He told me that since I was very active that these type of implants would be good for me & in order to get them I had to join a 'study group' - you know, similar to being a guinea pig. I was aware of the risks but I didn't know that implants don't last a lifetime. I had lived with a C cup & a burning sensation in my left breast for 14 years...until finally I demanded they be removed. This was due to in 2004 I began having 'flu like symptoms', serious fatigue, body weakness, joint aches, painful burning sensation in left breast, low grade fever, shortness of breath with any activity, etc. The doctor who implanted me didn't think that the implants were making me sick. He gave me an anti-biotic to cure the infection he thought I might have had. Did I mention that I hadn't seen him for over 10 yrs!? I don't even think he remembered me!! Anyway, I had the implants removed & wouldn't you know it, my symptoms either disappeared or got much better. After a very painful recovery and all of the swelling was gone my chest was sad looking. I felt terrible about myself, felt I looked 'unbalanced' especially in clothes. I couldn't even go into a bra department without bursting into tears - you see, when I was a C cup I didn't even have to try on the bra...I knew it would fit. Seems that small size bras are a 'thing of the past'... As time went on I was very aware of other womens breasts & almost seemed obsessed! Even though I researched and found out that the polyurethene coating dissolved in my body (no rupture though) I still felt I needed to get implants again, even knowing the risks. So after 6 months I decided to get new silicone, high profile D cup implants. (Found another well known surgeon in AZ & the D cup was my decision. Well, it's now been over a year & for the last few months I've been having the same symptoms appear again. Recently I had an eye irritation & went to see an eye specialist. He diagnosed me with having Iritis, inflammation of the iritis - basically arthritis of the eye. This has been known to be a symptom of an infection or inflammation somewhere else in the body. Well, the first thing that came to my mind as my implants. I am seriously contemplating getting my 2nd pair of implants removed (am seeing a different doctor on Wed. to discuss this issue). I have most of the symptoms of fibromyalgia back again (weak, fatigued, tired, no energy, etc.), left breast has burning sensations & with all the research I've done I know the right decision is to remove them. I'm just reluctant because I know how I'll look & feel afterwards. You see, my original bra cup was an A & for someone who is 5'10 that's not saying much! Guess it's a vain & selfish reason...my health is more important. Not sure what my doctor can do regarding my stretched skin after he takes the implants out...I wish the fat in my hips could be transferred to my boob area - but they haven't perfected that yet. My ideal size would be a full B. Anyway, I also wanted to mention that I have recently gotten back together with my ex-husband & we plan to marry again soon! He's only known me with my C cup size... & only has seen my new ones a couple of times. I know that this shouldn't matter but it does...he's a nice guy & wouldn't tell me if it mattered to him but I know it does. Guess this is my problem - hmm?? Thanks for listening & sorry for the longgggggg message. |

I am sorry to hear that I hope it works out! I have a suggestion since you have tried silicone implants 2 and you keep getting the same reaction, why dont you try saline implant and you can ask about the casing on the implant. You might be allergic to the material they are using for silicone implant. I am about 90% sure that they are different materials.
Hope this helps Take Care, |

Thank you so much for sharing your story.
You have nothing to apologize for. Believe me, any woman who has contemplated getting breasts implants for cosmetic reasons has had this struggle...including myself. I am on my third set. I'm one of those people that developes capsular contraction. I have decided after all these years to finally accept my breasts "as is" and am finally having them removed as soon as I can find the right PS. I have already been advised that just having the implants removed without considering some form of cosmetic enhancement, would probably not make me happy. I told this particulatr PS that I am determined NOT to replace them. What I will do is have a "breast lift". They are several kinds available now. One that I will be researching is called the "pec lift" or "internal bra lift". It uses the pectoralis muscle to create a sling. Supposedly, this technique enables the breasts to be supported internally and maintain superior breast fullness for a longer period of time. It also gives the breast the appearance of having implants. Hope this helps broaden your options. Good luck, |

Okay, so you had your breast implants removed. What does that have to do with butt implants? Are you getting butt implants?
