Buttocks Lipoplasty Liposuction on Butt
Good candidates for this type of cosmetic surgery are patients whose buttocks contain a high proportion of fat and reasonable skin elasticity. Lipoplasty is limited to fat-removal, so for patients with very loose skin and impaired elasticity (eg. after massive weight loss) it is not a good option. Such patients may need excisional buttock lipectomy (butt lift) to reshape the buttocks, although it may be combined with liposculpture for optimum cosmetic reshaping. Patients whose buttocks do have a high fat-content can expect significantly enhanced body contouring from liposuction, as up to 40 percent of fatty tissue can be removed from the butt.



Liposuction for Buttocks
Lipoplasty does not significantly "lift" the buttocks. Cosmetic surgeons can suction fat from the buttocks thus reducing their weight, which can facilitate a slight extra lift due to skin and muscle elasticity. However, there is typically very little, if any, noticeable lift, especially in older women patients whose gluteal muscles are slacker.
