Default Question abut absorbent pads

I had lipo on 11/21 and these foamy pads are now dirty and itchy. I was told to replace them when saturated, but to continue using until my first postop visit. What can I replace them with? Kotex?

I also had lipo on 11/21 but my PS did not use any padding. My pre-op appt is scheduled for next Tues and all I have on now is the garment. If your PS did not give you padding to replace it with, then I wouldn't worry about it. Your incisions should be dry and scabby at this point so I'd just go with the garment and not worry about foam padding. I definitely would not be wearing any padding that is dirty, you can risk getting an infection in your incision sites. If your not comfotable not using the padding, call your PS, the answering service will have him call you back and he'll advise as to what he wants you to do.

I think the surgeon usually provides the materials you are supposed to use. I would call your surgeon and explain the dilemma, and ask him what he wants you to do.
