Default What causes man boobs?
What causes men to need breast reduction? How do they get "man boobs"? Is it just from being overweight?

Some men develop boobs from being overweight. Others are troubled with true gynecomastia from hormone fluctuation, if I understand correctly.

Yep. While often times it is simply because of being overweight, there are genetic reasons that make it more likely and hormonal fluctuations that may cause it.

I have seen those "man-boobs" that are linked to hormonal problems and the men often have softer bodies with hips that are slightly flared, like a woman's.

I don't know how all of that could be fixed through surgery, though.

What I don't get is why man boobs are tolerated in all their glory, yet women aren't allowed to go topless?

LOL. I agree. It's so unfair but men's boobs don't garner as much attention as women's boobs do.

I agree. My husgand has man's boobs from being overweight, but my Uncle has man boobs because of some hormonal condition.
