DIY Microdermabrasion

I was wanting to know if anyone has bought one of those kits from the store and done it yourself? It seems that all of the cosmetic/skin care companies have their own kit now. L'Oreal, Olay, Neutrogena, etc. While they might not work as well as going to the doctor, they sure are more affordable. But that may not be such a good thing.
