Does this type of incision have any effect on how how your nipples react in the future ie are they more permanently erect or soft or is there no difference I know there may be some some of sensation (hopefully temporary) but am interested to hear fromanyone who has had this type of Incision.

I have had the nipple incision and before my op my main concern was that it would affect my ability to breast feed (when the time comes) Mr Webster assured me that the technique he uses is actually less likely to affect the milk ducts from functioning. He also said that it is less likely to affect nipple sensitivity. He said that when he makes the incision he lifts all of the milk ducts up so that they are not damaged. He also mentioned when you have the inicison placed under the breast they actually cut through the nerve that supplies the feeling in the nipples. He said using the nippled incision avoids this. For the first month or two I had less sensation in my left nipple but both are the same again now. Overall they react the same as they did before the op.

sunny, are you saying you have the same sensitivity as before the surgery? That's great if you do. I always thought that breast surgery would reduce nipple sensitivity.
