The date of my uni summer ball has been released and its a week and a half before my operation! I know most PSs say avaoid alcohol 2 weeks beforehand but would it really hurt that much if I had a few bevvies a week and a half beforehand but then drink tons of water and stuff afterwards to flush it all out? Or does it not work like that?

The reason for NO alcohol is that it thins the blood, so swelling could be worse.
I know it's boring but I always stick to what they tell me, better to be safe that sorry kind of thing. Other thing to avoid prior is Vit-e and Garlic and anything that contain aspirin, all these things act like a blood thinner. Oh and no smoking ofcourse. |

I would recommend that you avoid drinking as you are told to do. You don't want to add unnecessary risks and complications to the procedure. If you do decide to drink, at least tell your doctor before the procedure so he knows what's going on.
