Default Breathing

My friend prob:

I had my op on the 9th, I'm only 2 days post op now but I still can't breathe through my nose at all, not even the tiniest bit! I still have a lot of stitches & God knows what else up there. Does anyone know when I'll be able to breathe again? Maybe not untill afterI get my cast off & stitches out? It's just driving me mad!
Also, my nose drips a little bit, not blood but a weird sort of yellow liquid (really gross I know, sorry.) So I still wear a bandage undernath to catch the drips. What is this, and is it normal??
Thanks in advance...

They have took the packing out haven't they? Can you see up your nose? But it could be blocked with gunge, dried blood etc.
Laurie dripped for days. I think it's related to septum work. She never said what colour though. I assumed clear. I'm not sure yellow sounds right. I think Jean mentioned dripping as well.
There is an emergency number.

The fluid is only yellow because it is tinged with blood.
As long as you feel ok and don't have a raised temeperature, you're fine.
I've heard of lots of people having drips, even months afterwards.
I dread not being able to breathe through my nose, especially waking up after surgery. And swallowing the gunge. Yak.

I think it is normal to drip after surgery. You're only two days out, so you can expect all sorts of weird side effects. Nevertheless, feel free to call your surgeon and get a check up if you are worried.
