Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
I am just getting little whiffs of The Smell from within my nose. Ugh. The swelling has gone down a bit from yesterday. Here's a comparison of before swelling and during. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/5e03db59.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/yukfront.jpg |

ou are VERY swollen, but it will go...
It's funny I never had the dreaded smell nearly everyone talks about. I couldn't smell or taste at all for a few days. You poor thing! Can't you put a tiny drop of perfume right under your nose or something? My scar is fading nicely by the way! A few more months and it'll be nearly invisible! :-) |

The smell is caused by the break down products of haemoglobin in your nose. Haemoglobin gets broken down into bile salts and, well, we all know what they smell like. I used to think the smell reminded me of a baby's nappy!
The best thing to do is to carefully take a damn Q-tip and try to softly clean some of the crusty blood from up your nose. Of course, I was not quite so patient and was right up there with a pair of tweasers digging the blood (and some sutures no doubt) out. Fortunately no harm came of it, but I wouldn't recommend it. Stick with a damp Q-tip and see how you get on! |

Does it smell bad when you get a nose job? Where does that bad smell come from?
