I was wondering what the long-term affects smoking at this stage can have on the final outcome and shape of nose?
I have heard it can induce swelling at this stage, so my nose looks quite big and un-even at the moment, but the optimist in me sees the final shape being what it looked like just when the cast came off. Am I right in thinking like this? Can smoking affect the development and settlement of cartliedge in the nose? |

I've read that smoking can affect your bone's ability to grow back properly...not sure where i read that, somewhere on the internet
But..this is what I do know - "Smoking significantly reduces your body's circulation and vascularity. This means difficulty in bringing much needed oxygen to your tissues and greatly increases your risk for slow healing and other complications" |

I think smoking will slow down the healing process more than anything. Of course, the longer the nose takes to heal, the more opportunity there is for external factors to damage the final outcome.
